SHARARA/LEHENGA
The history of lehenga can be traced back to the majestic courts of the Mughal era in India. During this period, the lehenga originated as a luxurious garment primarily worn by royalty. Its design reflected the opulence of the Mughal dynasty. A traditional lehenga is an elaborately flared long skirt usually worn with a small blouse and dupatta. Our beautifully hand printed lehengas are absolute royalty.
GHARARA
The Lucknowi gharara's beginnings can be found in the 18th century, during the rule of the Nawabs of Lucknow. The Nawabs were Muslim sultans renowned for their rich tastes and love of art. The traditional gharara is a wide legged pant that has panels from the waist to the knee followed by heavy gather that drapes down to the floor. Its generally worn with a short tunic and dupatta. Our beautiful h Chatapati ghararas are a labour of love. Hand printed, embellished and stitched meticulously keeping the traditional spirit in contemporary fashion.
